Schools
The Ceramic Experience would be delighted to visit your school.
We come equipped with everything needed for a painting session
and tidy up after ourselves at the end. You can paint with underglaze
paints which we take away to be fired (non-toxic, food-safe and
dishwasher-proof), or with acrylics, which are instant.
Dec '07 - Cardinal Hume Catholic School
To celebrate the opening of the new school all the children had to design a plate. |
The winners were brought along to the studio on Monday 17th December '07 where 20 of the children copied their designs onto ceramic plates. These plates were fired and they are now on display at the school for a term, after which the children will take them home. The runner up prizes for 4 of the children was for us to copy the design onto plates - these are now permanently on display at the school. |

Tyne Tees TV Christmas Challenge!
In December 07, Tyne Tees Television contacted us to ask if they could come along to our studio and film two of their presenters completing a Christmas Challenge to be broadcast on their local evening news program.
On Monday 17th December, Philipa from the Tyne Tees News Room and weatherman Bob Johnson came along to the ceramic experience where they undertook our Chirstmas Challenge - to make a Chirstmas Candle Wreath of clay. |
| After two hours of mess, fun and filming, they completed thier task. This resulted in a 3 minute slot on the Evening News Local program. The clay wreaths were dried and then fired in our kiln, and taken to the TV studio where they were judged by another presenter on live TV. |
Birtley East Primary School - Tiled Mural |
| The ceramic experience attended Birtley Primary School to complete a Tiled Mural. All the children and staff put a handprint onto the mural and we copied the winning design for the new school badge onto the mural. This is now mounted onto the wall as you enter the school - creating a lovely bright welcome! |

PRESS RELEASE - May '06
Art Project with Bailey
Green Primary School |
Bailey Green Primary School,
Killingworth, North Tyneside recieved a grant to fund an
Art Project based on healthy eating and drugs awareness within
the Community. We spent a whole week working with the pupils
and with the children at SureStart, Killingworth (500 kids
in total). |
 |
 |
Each child completed a tile. The nursery
and reception children put a handprint onto a tile, which
then formed the border of the murals, and the older children
ctreated thier own tile with thier interpretation of 'Healthy
Eating and Drugs Awareness'. The end result being two colourful
murals mounted on walls within the school. The local press
(Newcastle Evening Chronicle) attended the school on Tuesday
2nd May where photographs were taken of some of the children
alongside the murals. |
